We passed the 200 mile mark around midday and stopped at Edinbane Pottery - lovely place and the potter kindly made us a cup of tea while we sat eating our sandwiches outside his workshop.
Cycled on to Dunvegan and did the tourist bit visiting the castle of Clan McLeod. More recent clan chiefs added the 'pepper pot' turrets in c19, making it look a bit more castle like.
Coffee, cheese scones AND chocolate muffins while Jon tried wildlife photography..... Hmmmm
We'd almost reached Ose, our stop for the night when we came across John Bathgate's Dun Studio. http://www.dunstudio.com/ He showed us round - landscapes in oils and acrylics, and acrylic and collage - and spent time discussing art books with Jon.
Finally reached Achalochan House, our B&B, which has superb views from our veranda of the Cuillin Hills to the south east and Loch Bracadale to the south west. Snow still visible on the Cullins at the end of May!

I told you Skye would have beautiful weather - and more of the same tomorrow is forecast. It all continues to look stunning.
ReplyDeleteMore hopeful on the coffee and cakes stops on Skye - we recommend large glasses of Talisker as a cure for restless legs!
