Hills...

Day 4 of cycling and we found the HILLS!
Once off the ferry at Leverburgh we did 27 miles today along the Golden Road on South Harris. At the risk of repeatiing myself the landscape is just stunning. After the first long hill into the wind and rain(!), we stopped at the church at Rodel then headed north. Hard work. I'd expected a rather gentler pootle round the coastline stopping at every art gallery and coffee shop...... One art gallery visited but all other eatabishments were closed so NO COFFEE AND NO CAKE. In fact no lunch either but fortunately I had a packet of biscuits hidden in panniers so we demolished those. If I had a pound for every time Jon said "this'll be the last big hill......."

Coming to the top of the first big hill

Another big long hill

Now in Tarbert eating large portions of fish and chips.
