What a Day!

The sun shone all day, we saw some really memorable sights.  Our original schedule included a fleeting visit of Barra, but the need to alter booking bikes on trains changed that and we wound up here for a full day, which we are so pleased about.  On the north of the island;

We visited Barra airport to see the afternoon arrival and departure on the beach;

And then an afternoon stroll down the beach.....

A really great day on Barra and Vatersay, totalling 29 miles on the bikes. However, tomorrow doesn't look so good, heavy rain and strong wind all day.  At least it's southerly.  A ferry crossing to South Uist and around 35 miles cycling.  Hopefully the enthusiasm will stay with us despite the likely weather!
