Late last night an hour behind schedule due to weather and anchor problems en route. It did get a bit lumpy once out of the Sound, but not too bad. About half way across skipper announced the anchor cable was making a bit of a noise slapping against the hull, so had to heave to, let out the anchor and wind back in. After bobbing around in the chop we eventually got going again once twist in the anchor cable unravelled, all a bit dramatic. Bikes got a bit wet with sea bashing up against the flat stern, but panniers seem watertight. Susie is mildly alarmed at the hilly appearance of islands that were supposed to be fairly flat, as apparently someone had told her. We will see later this morning....!
Photo of a yacht we passed on the way over with just an orange storm jib out, was glad to be aboard big boat with engines;
Woke rather early, a bit excited about being here I guess. Here's the view looking south over the castle in the bay, pretty impressive I thought.

Very relieved u made it! Have a relaxing cycle today. Weather looks much better than yesterday, which would not be difficult. Enjoy. Jacquelinex
